Flowers Blooming In The Garden

Dear Family & Friends

Last year was the first year that I seriously thought of planting flowers in our garden. At first, I wasn't very confident that I could do gardening. I started with growing vegetables a couple of years back, and with the harvest and the idea of eating fresh, healthy food, I start enjoying gardening...Every year our garden is evolving to become much of a cottage garden.

Day Lily...a beautiful flower for each single day till it last

Flowers and vegetables mixes well. I like the idea of allowing plants to grow naturally... plants got their say too and I don't need to be a control freak about it all.

Rose plant are so easy to grow...white ones takes fading much better

Gardening is a lot of work. I have learned to see weeds as part of the ecology...I don't mind a bit of messy look...I pull them as I go when I can. Weeds mean I can have more compost to nourish back our garden plants.

Carnation Plants push their way amongst the rest

Most plants have been self seeding itself...they all look a bit crowded...but they know how to push themselves, amongst themselves...I get all the surprise on how cleverly they arranges themselves.

A fun plant...Snap Dragon...self seeded themselves

I do rescue and transplant some of them into new empty space...and they will start and go on from there.

Sweet pea just went mad this year...I didn't know they grow so easily:)

There are some plants that I thought would not make it thru cold weather...but I got pleasantly surprised that given a little protection, they cope better than expected.

Gardening is a wonderful activity. There's many lovely surprises out there and it's a good excuse to be out working.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Yours
