Come and have a ride in this old car...

Come and have a ride in this old car and we'll journey into some old places of Ohrid (Охрид), Macedonia...

I wonder how many carts, feet, and wheels have passed this way through the years? .... This pavement have seen many rains, snow and sun shiny days, making some of the cobbled stones smoother...

How about walking thru this interesting alleyway, which is a communal path, built between two houses....

See the old, steep, narrow and uneven road... I suppose, modern stilettos will never do here...

,

What about this old mud brick walls...they certainly stood the test of time....

The public theater...imagine the loud merry noise that must have been here on grand ocassion...

Do you ever wonder of  'time past'? Well, I do.... and hope you enjoyed this little old trip with me too:)

  1. So nice that they've maintained everything - here, they demolish it all and put up all those modern stuff. All the heritage gone! All the identity lost. It will be like any other modern town or city in the end.

    1. You're right Arthur. Heritage is precious and most valuable. Plus, there's more character and beauty to see in old towns/cities.

    1. Yeah! Even better if that car was red...
The Old Town is really what attracts visitors...in fact old houses that withstood the test of time are more expensive to buy and I think it is because they are better built than the modern ones...just need extra money to rennovate and restore it to it's grand beauty:)

  4. These old structures are very durable , dating back from who knows when ! :D I love the cobblestones and for such an old city it's relatively clean ....

I agree with Suitaupai , most cities around the world are over developed as if they want to erase their own heritage ! tsk tsk It's much more worse here in Hongkong ! :P

  6. What a beautiful place! The city of Ohrid definitely has the feel of the ancient times. The walls, the roads and the structure definitely speak of the old glory of the city. I think it would be nice to drive around the place with that gorgeous little car and see these historical and magnificent places. It’s like riding down on the memory lane!

  7. A road trip in an old car - What can be more fascinating than that? I'd love to stroll along Macedonia too. Seeing this post makes me want to drive an old car and just look at all the views around me. Sometimes, all we need is a break from the busy world we're all in.

    1. I think time past, and preserved ancient places has a lot to offer us...life seems to be much simplier and less stressful then, I suppose?

  8. I can imagine sounds coming out of the public theater! :) You should have gotten inside the theater! Hmp! Anyway, that was quite an adventure, Annie. May I ask, what car model did you use back there? You know what? The body actually resembles a type 1 Volkswagen.
