I'm not so good in knitting but I just knitted fingerless mittens to keep my hands warm! and still be able to use my fingers to work on...
All you need to know is how to cast on, to knit, and to purl. Just google on you tube videos for visual aid.
The pattern I used is as follows:
Cast on 32 stitches. (This is a snug fit for a size petite hands)
Start with rib stitch. That is : knit 2, purl 2. Do this all the way for 13 rows.
Next is to make stocking stitch. That is, 1 row of knitting, and the next row is purl. Alternating for 18 rows.
Then, back to Rib stitch. knit 2, purl 2 all the way for 15 rows.
Cast off.
Now you get this.
Then fold it in half and sew sides together, leaving a hole for the thumb.
This is how you wear them!!
Now, I'm off to make some more for presents and for extras as at some point, mittens need to get into washing, and hands need to constantly be kept warm.
Hope you enjoy this tutorial. Now, it's your turn to have a go and have fun:)
