Our Search For More Grapevines

Dear Family & Friends

Sometime last week, we heard of a place that sells good grapevines somewhere. We wanted to add some more vines in our garden.

We didn't know exactly where to go...so we had to ask people from time to time as we think we arrived our destination. We didn't even know whether we are looking for a shop, an agricultural office or what!??... But that's part of life's adventure for foreigners in a foreign land.

Along the long lost way, we saw this small village with a big statue of a man... and right on top of his head was a big nest with a birdie in it! So, it amazed us ...and we stopped to take a photo of it.

Not too far from this...is a village municipal office...the building's roof top has an enormous bird's nest and we can see the baby bird's long yellow beak begging food from the mummy stork!! So we stopped again to take another photo!!

Of course we still have in mind the quest in finding this grapevine place...finally after asking at least 4 different people...we found the place. By this time, it was lunch time...you see how we wasted our time?? ...and the old boy managing this place was not happy to see us and our asking to buy some grapevines, as we disturbed his lunch!!

I felt so sorry...and after a few grumble and mumble, he got up to get my order for our garden. Oh, bless him!! He was OK after that:)

I should really have taken photos of the place, for it was a very interesting place! No, it wasn't a shop that you normally see....it was like an outdoor factory...and there were around 20 women sitting everywhere eating their lunches from jam jars...these ladies binds and waxes the grapevines set. I think they supply various establishments, shops and vineyards.

After the lunch disturbance we did...I just couldn't afford to start clicking my camera at them as well....now, my apologies to you for I couldn't supply the photo to go with this story....

OK, for now, we have some more vines to trail over this trellis that my husband carefully prepared. Grapevines, you better be happy growing in our garden!! Now, I'm off to dream bunches of grapes hanging nicely on those wires overhead:)

I'll try to remember to update you on this progress later on the year.

For now...take care.

Yours,

    1. The village people believe that the Stork brings good luck to where they stay... I don't know about that, but it would certainly be nice to have a big stork nest in the backyard...perhaps not... big bird means big mess too:)
