Spring speaks of new beginnings

Dear Family & Friends

I took photos of some plants that have woken up from their slumber, to share with you. I could say that proper Spring time is here to stay...Daffodils started blooming. There's so much beauty around this time of the year...but I cannot say it with all my heart because the chaos in Europe continues on...my brain just goes numb, when I think how mankind can do extreme mean and ugly things.

Daffodil that reminds me of poached egg

In our walled garden, I take solitude and insist on appreciating that life is suppose to be  -BEAUTIFUL. Snow drops were the very first bulb flower to let us know that winter is over...then followed by the daffodils. Other bulbs like the Hyacinths, Muscari and the Tulips have also emerged...and flower buds are now forming one after another. The garden is beginning to smell sweet with these spring blooms!

an all yellow daffodil bloom

It's exciting to check the perennial plants in the garden waking up. Every leaves are new and fresh looking. They had a good winter rest and are now ready to perform once again for this year's garden.

Fresh leaves emerging from Rhubard plant

In order to make gardening chores manageable for myself, I plan to grow more perennial plants to fill up the garden. Every plants either gives food for people, garden insects and the ecology.

Comfrey plant everywhere

The chives are springing up too. They are so easy to grow and they need no care. Every year they come back with bigger clump than the year before. They would later form flowers too.

Once you have chives in the garden...it will be there always

Even the daylily is sprouting back and multiplying themselves so quickly. I think this year I will try making a dish out of the flowers. I heard they are edible and taste good.

Daylilies seems to be spreading faster than I thought it will

Gardening is a chore...but rewarding for all the work invested in. Hope you have a rewarding week too:) Be wise and keep safe wherever you are.

Yours

  1. The flowers are so lovely. So far I have no luck in planting them. My Chives also did not turn out healthy :(

    1. Virginia, don't be discouraged with your planting ventures...I have my own failures from time to time too....probably the heat wave in your country is the culprit for the moment...just shade and keep them well watered. Wishing you a good week and success:)

  3. I am feeling excited seeing your healthy flowers and edibles in your garden sprouting out so beautifully. I tried growing chives once but I did miserably. Maybe I should try again.

    1. Chives will just grow like grass in our garden - in cracks, shady or sunny area. It's impossible to kill them...Perhaps it's something to do with the weather and the variety?? Nancy, don't give up trying with growing things (specially if you have seen others growing it in your area), After all, you have already proven that you can grow lots of other beautiful plants in your garden:) Happy gardening time Nancy!
